Our Services

Adult Psychiatry

At Minds Matter Clinic, we understand that mental health challenges in adulthood can be complex, deeply personal, and sometimes difficult to articulate.

Our Adult Psychiatry service provides a safe, compassionate, and confidential environment for individuals seeking support for a wide range of mental health difficulties.

Our experienced Consultant Psychiatrists take a holistic approach to assessment, considering biological, psychological, and social factors that may be impacting your wellbeing. Whether you are experiencing low mood, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, or long-standing mental health conditions, we are here to help.

What is an Adult Psychiatric Assessment?

An adult psychiatric assessment is a comprehensive evaluation carried out by one of our Consultant Psychiatrists. Assessments can either take place in person or online, It typically involves:

A detailed clinical interview discussing current symptoms and concerns
Exploration of your personal and family mental health history
Review of any previous diagnoses or treatments
Consideration of lifestyle factors and psychosocial stressors
Formulation of a working diagnosis (if appropriate)
Recommendations for treatment and support

What Can Be Assessed?

We assess and support a wide range of mental health conditions in adults, including:

Depression
Anxiety disorders (including GAD, panic disorder, and OCD)
Bipolar disorder
Personality disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders
Stress-related issues
Emotional instability or dysregulation

If needed, we can also explore whether a more specialist assessment (e.g., ADHD or Autism in adults) is appropriate.

What Happens After the Assessment?

Following the assessment, you will receive:

A detailed, clinically accredited report summarising the findings
A clear diagnosis if applicable
Personalised treatment recommendations which may include medication, psychological therapy, lifestyle advice, and referrals to other appropriate services.
The opportunity to ask questions and discuss next steps

We are committed to collaborative care and will involve you fully in the planning of your treatment.
